Moravian Village of Bethlehem is committed to providing a safe environment for our residents, visitors and staff. Along those lines, the Center for Disease Control and PA Department of Health have issued guidelines for long term care nursing facilities to implement infection prevention controls that minimize or eliminate the transmission of infectious diseases. To that end, Moravian Village has established the following policy regarding the infection prevention measures that will be required for any visitor who wishes to enter our facility:

All visitors will be asked to read these guidelines. You will have acknowledged your understanding of these guidelines by proceeding to the screening steps. Visitors who do not comply with these measures will be asked to leave.

  • Visitation will be limited to 3 guests in a resident’s room at one time. Visits of more than 3 people will be assigned to a space in a common area. Due to the limitation of space in common areas for visitation, it is required that visits of 4 or more be scheduled in advance. Reservations are preferred for all visits and can be made by calling the Activity Department at 610-625-4885, Ext. 224.
  • If a party of 4 or more comes without advance notice, they may be required to wait for an appropriate space to be made available for the visit. If the party wishes to visit in the resident room, we will limit guests to no more than 3 at a time. In all cases, when visitors are waiting, they must wait outside of the building.
  • All Visitors are required to wear facemasks at all times while in common areas of the building. While in a resident room and with no other residents or staff present, if a fully vaccinated resident wishes, he/she may choose to have their fully vaccinated visitors remove their facemask and have close contact. This may only take place in the resident room among fully vaccinated individuals, but when staff or other residents enter the room, facemask must be worn properly covering the mouth and nose.

Visitors must sign in when they arrive and must sign out when they leave. Contact information and vaccination status will be requested and will be used in the event of an outbreak where contact tracing must be done.

All visitors will be screened prior to admission to the facility. The screening process includes the visitor’s acknowledgement that they have answered NO to all of the following questions:

  • Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
  • Have you experienced any of the following symptoms in the last 48 hours: Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea?
  • Within the past 14 days have you been in close physical contact (6 feet or closer for at least 15 minutes) with a person who is known to have laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 or the flu or with anyone who has any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or the flu (listed above)?
  • Are you isolating or quarantining because you may have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 or are worried that you may be sick with COVID-19?
  • Are you currently waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test for reasons other than surveillance testing?

Indoor Visitors Must:

  • Wear their facemask, covering the mouth and nose, always while in common areas of the facility.
    • A fully vaccinated resident may choose to have their fully vaccinated visitors remove their facemask and have close contact. This may only take place in the resident room but when staff enter the room, facemask must be worn.
  • Perform hand hygiene before and after touching surfaces.
  • Physically distance 6 feet from staff, other visitors and other residents.
  • Limit their interaction with others in the facility, restricting their visit to the resident’s room or location designated by the facility.
  • In addition to facemask, wear a face shield when visiting a resident who is quarantined. Face shield must be pulled down and cover the face.
  • Inform the facility immediately if they develop fever or symptoms consistent with COVID-9 within 14 days of visiting the facility.
  • Refrain from eating and drinking during a visit. Food may be dropped off for the resident to consume later.
